FellowSoft · Rochester, New York

A home's own computer.

The FellowSoft House runs on a small server in our home and on the things we already own: our phones, a tablet, the television. Two of us live with it every day. It keeps the household's own record, and it asks nothing of anyone at rest.

The field

The first screen is a marsh at the real hour and weather. Four panes hold the morning paper, the house, the shared inbox and the projects, and Stub sits on the sill.

Stub, the house’s assistant, can ask Claude for help with a named job; every word sent out is written down for the household.

The Edition

Every morning the house prints a paper of its own: what is coming up, what the house noticed, what is due.

The television

An arcade of our own games, a theatre for our own films, and a weather channel with its own album playing under the forecast.

Phones and tablets

Native Android apps, a home screen on the iPhone, and a private tunnel so the house is there from work too.

The House is not for sale yet. It is being finished in one home before it is offered to others. To hear when it is, write to hello@fellowsoft.net.
